php - output in browser not right -

My browser is showing it as a result from the following code (code gets directly from my course)

Rule $ lineNr: ". Htmlspecialchars ($ line)." ");}? & Gt; (this is not the code in my editor, it is the actual output of the browser)

  & lt;? // table% table = file (" test ($ LineNr, $ line) = each ($ table)) {Print ("& lt; b & gt; Rule $ lineNr: & lt; / b & gt;" htmlspecialchars ($ line). "& Lt; That's because I had put my address incorrectly in my browser. But this time the path of the file is contained in the actual xampp rootfolder as other PHP files that work, so I'm not really that. I know how to fix it.

Make sure you enter the full php start tag (" & Lt ;? php "). You are using a short tag (" & lt ;? ").

  & lt; php // code? & Gt;
