augmented reality - How can I identify items in the real world? -

Theoretically, how can I get a picture of a room and identify objects in the room? Let's say we have a book on the table and table, is there any way to identify them?

A pile of papers that is of the same dimension? Or maybe a big encyclopedia? Define a book in a computer.

This is an incredibly difficult problem and certainly there is nothing to answer. Wherever I'm based on, there is extensive research going on to identify things on a specific road - which is incredibly difficult.

Personally, I will take a look at Kinect SDK which is intended to be released in Microsoft summer. There is no doubt that people use it to develop some more frameworks to use it. Will try, but remember that part of the problem is going to differentiate between different items of the same dimension. Non trivial

Edit: Make sure that I type how I type: p
